BCBE Awarded Projects

BCBE AWARDED SEVEN NEW PROJECTS

NAPLES, FL (June 26, 2008) --A variety of exciting new projects have been awarded to Boran Craig Barber Engel Construction Co., Inc. some of which will start as early as summer 2008. Everything from remodels and renovations, to new shopping plazas and grand gatehouses will soon grace Florida’s coasts.

Harbourside Tennis Facility

Longboat Key Club and Resort rests at the end of Longboat Key, a barrier island situated just opposite of Sarasota, facing Sarasota Bay. Tucked away on its waterfront landscape lies Harbourside, a residential development that offers a host of amenities to those who call this special community home. One such amenity is a tennis facility scheduled to be completed in December 2008.

Plans include 20 Har-Tru tennis courts plus a 7,500-square-foot clubhouse. Catering to members only, the clubhouse will feature a pro shop, a gathering place to watch the ongoing tennis action, as well as a café where members can enjoy a casual meal. The clubhouse will boast a sleek, clean design, a fitting complement to its waterside locale.

Naples United Church of Christ

The Naples United Church of Christ has been a fixture in the Naples community for decades. With its signature steeple rising high over Crayton Road, it stands majestically awaiting a much anticipated remodel, addition, and new construction that could start as early as July 2008.

The remodel and addition will take place in two of the church’s existing buildings, the Administrative Hall and Nelson Hall. Not only will this project update the interior of these buildings, but it will also provide much needed space for more classrooms, meeting areas, and a new kitchen. The third component is the construction of a concert hall designed specifically for state-of-the-art acoustics, which will function as a place to enjoy musical performances, lectures, and receptions, as well as a place for the choir to practice. When complete in February 2009, the church will have grown by 30,000 square feet.

Wilderness Clubhouse

At the heart of Wilderness Country Club, a gated community situated in the heart of Naples, rests its amenity-laden clubhouse, a refuge for residents and their guests seeking fun-filled or relaxing pursuits. While still functional, the aging clubhouse, now nearly 35 years old, is in need of an update.

Starting in early July 2008, BCBE will be renovating and remodeling the existing building to bring it up to today’s standards, just in time for the influx of seasonal residents who return to the area in early fall.

All of the clubhouse’s existing amenities will remain, including a restaurant with a full-service dining room and a bar, a pro shop, and meeting space. However, the addition of an outdoor patio will bring the total square footage of the new clubhouse to nearly 6,000 of luxurious, member-only space. The remodel will also make the building ADA compliant with the installation of wheelchair accessible ramps and entries.

Naples Community Development Building

Starting in July 2008, BCBE will be undertaking a complete remodel of the Naples Community Development Building. Located on Riverside Circle, just off Goodlette-Frank Road, the building houses the city’s permitting department.

Now 20 years old and showing its age, the interior will be given a facelift, restoring it to a condition worthy of today’s standards. The project will not include any additions to the building itself, but rather just a reviving of its existing office space.

Wilshire Lakes Gatehouse

An amenity-filled, gated community in Naples, Wilshire Lakes, is getting an entrance makeover. Starting as soon as July 2008, BCBE will be demolishing the existing gatehouse and erecting a two-story building in its place. The new gatehouse will encompass approximately 350 square feet and feature stone, glass, and trellis work as design elements.

When the project is complete, residents and guests will enter a drive blanketed with elegant pavers and be greeted by a much grander gatehouse. The project also includes applying a fresh coat paint to the existing clubhouse. When finished, Wilshire Lakes will exude luxury from its Vanderbilt Beach Road entry.

Florida Cancer Specialists Interior Remodel

Florida Cancer Specialists (FCS) is the largest privately-owned Oncology/Hematology practice in Florida specializing in the treatment of malignancies and diseases of the blood. They have 17 offices that serve the Gulf Coast area from Bradenton to Naples, one of which is located at the Naples Community Hospital South campus. BCBE will be completely renovating this 16,000 square foot facility to accommodate FCS’s growing staff and cutting edge technology.
