"Helping Hands" from Naplesnews.com
The back to school spirit of generosity is at work in the offices of The Education Foundation. Our staff moved into new offices - and we had help from many volunteers and friends to make it happen.
We are fortunate that Boran Craig Barber Engel Construction Co. Inc. allowed us to rent offices in its new corporate building on Enterprise Avenue. Don Barber was a founding board member of The Education Foundation, and along with Melvin Engel, has supported our work for many years as a major sponsor. We value this partnership and applaud their generosity.John and Cindy Smarge of Ray the Mover helped us move our office and provided four men and two trucks to help all day.
First Sgt. George Harvey and Lt. Col. Paul Garrah brought their Golden Gate High JROTC students to help us pack and move boxes and unpack. We could not have made it without their respectful willingness to help and big smiles.
There were other volunteer helpers, as well as the family and friends of staff, who pitched in to help get things organized.
On behalf of the staff of The Education Foundation, I want to say thank you to the businesses and individuals who help us with their contributions of time and energy. I want to hold up these cases of philanthropy as exemplary along with the students and teachers who give back to the organization that was founded to support them.
Susan McManus, President, Education Foundation of Collier County
